Funding a $25,000 downtown Clean Streets pilot with One City

That Council approve the recommendations outlined in Report MOCOM26-004, dated August 24, 2026 of the Commissioner, Municipal Operations as follows: a) That Council approve funding of $25,000 to One City Community Development Services for the delivery of an eight-week Community Stewardship – Clean Streets pilot program in the fall of 2026, focused on the downtown area; b) That the program be funded from existing program funding for waste collection and operations; c) That the Commissioner, Municipal Operations, be authorized to execute an agreement with One City Community Development Services for the administration and delivery of the program on terms acceptable to the said Commissioner and in a form acceptable to the City Solicitor; and d) That staff report back to Council in early 2027 on the outcome of the pilot and recommendations for potential continuation and expansion of the Community Stewardship Program, including opportunities to leverage funding from local businesses, community organizations and other partners.
