Authorize administration of federal/provincial housing loan programs

That Council approve the recommendations outlined in Report CSSS22-007, dated February 14, 2022 of the Commissioner of Community Services as follows: a)That the Commissioner of Community Services (Commissioner), in consultation with the Manager of Housing Services, be authorized to do such things as are considered by the Commissioner to be necessary to administer Council approved federal and provincial Housing and Homelessness Programs (Programs), subject to compliance with federal and provincial requirements respecting such Programs including, from time to time: i)approving new loans including the terms and conditions of each such loan and any security required as a condition of such approval; ii)approving postponements of the City’s security interests related to each such loan referred to above provided that the Commissioner is satisfied that, in relation to the subject property value and other existing and proposed security interests in the subject property, the priority of the City’s security interests are reasonably maintained; iii) approving discharges or releases of the City’s security interests in subject properties; and b) That the Commissioner be authorized to execute all documents to give effect to the approvals referenced in Recommendation A, above, on terms acceptable to the Commissioner in consultation with the Manager of Housing and in forms acceptable to the City Solicitor.
